| Got water damage? RCS is here to help!
Structural drying has evolved to a science of equipment use and psychrometrics (the study of humidity and moisture). With principles and techniques garnered through hands-on certification by the American Drying Institute, RCS Restorations personnel are qualified to handle all phases of water extraction and structural drying; as well as potential toxins such as mold and bacteria.
“Our goal is to ... Completely dry the structure regardless of class or category , to dry the structure as rapidly as possible, with the objective of minimizing replacement costs to the structure and contents”-----Chuck Dewald, American Drying Institute
Keys to Structural Drying are based upon the idea of HATT—Humidity, Air Flow, Temperature and Time and the ability to manipulate them to speed up the drying process. The Keys to Structure Drying are:
- Customer Relations---explain the drying process; explain and receive work authorization
- Physical Extraction---remove the easy water
- Meters---Prove where structure is wet; prove it is set up to dry; prove structure is dry
- Drying Chamber---Isolate only the area that is wet; use right amount of equipment for area
- Class/Category of water---amount of moisture after easy water; clean, grey or black water
- Dehumidification---Remove moisture in air
- HEPA/Air Scrubbers---remove 99.97% of particulate air
- Air Movers---remove moisture from materials; enhance dehumidification
- Moisture Mapping---diagram showing water in structure and equipment placement
- Psychrometrics---ability to map and prove the drying process
